MITCHELL DUANE DOBBINS, 65, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014 as a result of an automobile accident. Born July 26, 1948 in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of the late Raymond Edward Dobbins and Leah Elizabeth Blickenstaff Dobbins. In addition to his parents, Mitchell was also preceded in death by his brothers Roy L. Rhinehart and Franklin D. Rhinehart. Mitchell is survived by his loving wife, Anna V. Hill-Dobbins; three daughters, Elizabeth A. Rau and husband Steven, Stephanie M. Dobbins, and Jennifer A. Everts and spouse Jen; three sons, Jonathan M.H. Dobbins, Brandon D. Dobbins, and Shawn M. Dobbins and wife Stacey; seven grandchildren, Aubrey H. Rau, Ava G. Rau, Bailey M. Dobbins, Logan T. Dobbins, Lindsey M. Reeder, Joshua T. Reeder and Corey A. Reeder; one sister, Linda K. Dobbins; one brother, Dennis A. Rhinehart; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mitchell was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from Jamison Door Company in 2010, after 31 years of service. He joined Antietam Fire Company Engine 2 at the age of 16 and served as a firefighter for many years. He was the President of Western Enterprise Fire Company Engine 4 for the past three years. He was also a member of Funkstown American Legion Post 211, Vietnam Veterans Last Man's Club, Washington County AMVETS Post 10, Conococheague Tribe 84 Improved Order of the Red Men, Williamsport Moose Lodge 2462 and North American Rod and Gun Club. Mitchell enjoyed spending time with his loving family and friends and serving others, watching the Redskins, NASCAR racing, playing bingo, bowling and hunting. Services will be held Monday, March 31, 10:00 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. Hagerstown, Maryland. Chaplain Richard W. Bower will officiate. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 30, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
