MILDRED ANN (MCDONALD) MORRISON, 70, of Homewood at Williamsport, 16505 Virginia Avenue, #C156, Williamsport, Maryland, and formerly of 17314 Amber Drive, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Monday, December 26, 2005 at the Homewood Health Care Center. She was born in Cumberland, Maryland on January 3, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Mildred Irene (Long) McDonald of LaVale, Maryland and Charles Kinsley McDonald of Barton, Maryland. She is survived by her husband of forty-six years, Robert B. Morrison; son, Charles R. Morrison, and wife, Susan M., of Puyallup, Washington; daughter, Susan M. Rosencrance, and husband, Alan B., of New Market, Maryland; son, Samuel D. Morrison, and wife, Maryellen L., of Hagerstown; grandchildren, John R., Elizabeth A., Tess K., Samuel R., William H., and Lilly G. Morrison, and Anna K. Rosencrance; sister, Mary Jane (McDonald) Stanley Broadwater; and nieces and nephews. Her education included graduation from Allegany High School, graduation from Western Maryland College Summa Cum Laude, and graduate work at Penn State University. The beginning of her career was spent as a teacher for six years in the Washington County Public School System. The remainder of her career was spent as a homemaker which she considered to be her most rewarding job. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening, nature, classical music, playing the piano, literature, genealogy, craftwork, appreciating art, painting (oil and watercolor), and excelled at parenting and grand parenting. She was a lifelong Methodist and had recently transferred her membership back to the church of her childhood, The Barton United Methodist Church of Barton, Maryland. She was a longtime resident of Amber (formerly) Linden Drive in Halfway. She recently moved to a cottage at Homewood in Williamsport. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 13th at 11:00 a. m. at the MINNICH FUNERAL HOME, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. The Rev. Reginald Rice will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
