MILDRED JACOBS BOON, 86, formerly of 16505 Virginia Avenue, Williamsport, Maryland, died on Friday, November 27, 2009 at the Homewood Nursing Home in Williamsport. Born June 13, 1923 in Williamsport, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Eugene and Flora Bowers. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edgar A. Jacobs on July 15, 1989, and her second husband, H. Daniel Boon on November 21, 2002. She was employed by Porter Chemical Company. She and her husband, Edgar A. Jacobs started The Family Craft Center where she worked until retirement. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Williamsport, Maryland. She was a member of Maugansville Senior Citizens. She is survived by one daughter, Betty McNairn, and husband Leonard, of Maugansville, Maryland; one son, Edgar A. Jacobs, II, and wife Mary, of Clear Spring, Maryland; five sisters, Gertrude Frye of Hagerstown, Maryland, Nellie Roop of Elkton, Maryland, Ruth Conway, and husband Curtis, of Falling Waters, West Virginia, Mable Griffith, and husband Eugene, of Elkton, Maryland, and Dorothea Heavener, and husband Larry, of Williamsport, Maryland; one brother, Clinton Bowers, and wife Ruth, of Rising Sun, Maryland; grandchildren, DeLynn Grove, and husband Bill, of Clear Spring, Maryland, Edgar A. Jacobs, III of North Hollywood, California, and Sean McNairn, and wife Bridgette, of Maugansville, Maryland; great-grandchildren, Justin Grove, Missie Grove, Christopher McNairn, and Abigale McNairn; stepchildren, David Boon, and wife Louise, of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, Nancy Boon of Columbia, Missouri, and John Boon, and wife Misha, of Silver Spring, Maryland; stepgrandchildren, Wendy Long of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Whitney Boon of Nashville, Tennessee, Cherith Moore of Columbia, Missouri, and Liz Boon of Boulder, Colorado; step-great-grandchildren, Sage Moore, and Olivia Moore; sisters-in-law, Bernice Bowers of Williamsport, Maryland, Mary Ann Bowers of North East, Maryland, Helene Bowers of Columbia, Maryland, Joyce Bowers of Hagerstown, Maryland, and Madeline Swope of Williamsport, Maryland; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sister, Jane Williams; brothers, Robert Bowers, Bernard Bowers, Ralph Bowers, and Charles Bowers; and grandchildren, Lisa Ann McNairn, and Mark Allan McNairn. Graveside services will be held at Rest Haven Cemetery on Monday at 11:00 a. m. Rev. W. Gregory Martin will officiate. Friends may call at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown on Sunday from 1:00 to 6:00 p. m.
