Michael Ray Rider, 30, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed from this life on Monday, July 29, 2024.

Born on November 29, 1993, in Jefferson, WV, he was the son of the late Raymond L. Rider and late Carrie A. Bowers.

Michael spent the majority of his career in masonry and chimney care. He was an avid sports fan, loyal to the New England Patriots and Michigan State Spartans. He loved all outdoor adventures including hiking in the Rocky Mountains to skydiving in Ocean City. Most of all, he was recognized by friends and family as kind, fun, and genuine.

He is survived by siblings Kirsten R. Jones and husband, Benjamin W. Jones of Smithsburg; Glenn A. Rider and companion, Katie T. Cook of Thurmont; and Daniel J. Rider; grandparents, Ronald E. Bowers and Anna Gwynn of Monrovia and Judy A. Bowers and Gary A. Wheeldon of Frederick; aunt, Kim R. Dawson and husband, Robert E. Dawson of Hagerstown; nephews, Graeme W. and Harrison R. Jones; and cousin, Kyle G. Jones.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3pm on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Pastor Jeffrey Casto will officiate.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
