Michael Steven Orndoff, lovingly known as Michael, passed away on September 11, 2023, in Martinsburg, WV, after a long-term sickness. Born on March 14, 1987, in Hagerstown, MD, Michael lived a life filled with love, kindness, and a gentle spirit which always left others feeling comfortable around him.

Michael's early life was filled with active participation in sports and the Boy Scouts. His education led him to earn an Associate's degree in paralegal studies. Throughout his childhood he enjoyed spending time with his grandparents Donald & Mary Harper. He especially loved playing horseshoes and riding on the tractor with his Pap, often asking "where's the keys Pap."

Michael had an enduring passion for history, particularly the Civil War era. This interest was not just academic; it was a gateway to understanding the complexities of human nature and society. His love for history was often a topic of conversation, and he enjoyed sharing his knowledge with everyone around him.

A dedicated fan of sports, Michael was a loyal supporter of the Baltimore Ravens in football and the Baltimore Orioles in baseball. His enthusiasm for these teams was infectious, and he enjoyed watching games with those around him. He found joy in the songs of Johnny Horton and Alabama, often humming their tunes. As he listened to their songs it always brought him happiness and joy.

Michael is survived by his mother, Donna Orndoff, his sister Laurie Hurd, his brother-in-law Jonathan Hurd, and his beloved nephews, Nathan, and Seth Hurd. His aunts, uncles, and cousins, who will continue to cherish his memory, also survive him. Michael's love for his family was evident in his every action, and he always loved whenever he was able to be at family gatherings, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love.

Michael was a beacon of kindness and gentleness in a world that often forgets the importance of these virtues. His loving nature was not limited to his family and friends; he extended it to everyone he met; he was always willing to help someone whenever he could. He remained a faithful son to his mother always checking on her no matter where or how he was. His legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

In his 36 years, Michael Steven Orndoff lived a life full of meekness, gentleness, kindness, and love. He left an unforgettable mark on everyone he met, and his memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
