Michael Rod Durning, 70, of Greencastle, PA, passed away, Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Meritus Medical Center. Born July 31, 1950 in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Charles Joseph and Norma Grace (Clark) Durning. Michael was a veteran of the U. S. Army; retired from Mack Truck; and employed by the County Commuter. He was a former member of Antrim Faith Baptist Church in Waynesboro. Michael enjoyed helping people. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed hunting. He was a devoted husband and is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lana D. (Dawson) Durning; one son, Michael Anthony Durning; one brother, Anthony Shane Durning; two grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Durning and Elijah Anthony Durning; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Michael and Charles Joseph Durning. Funeral services will be 11am Tuesday, ,July 20, 2021, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Pastor Jay Recto will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery with military honors by the Joint Veterans Council and Marine Corps League of Washington County. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at the funeral home.
