MICHAEL EUGENE CAVENDER, SR., 59, formerly of 242 S. Mulberry Street, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Friday, July 22, 2005 at the Washington County Hospital. Born January 12, 1946 in Oldtown, Maryland he was the son of Catherine Wiles Cavender of Greencastle, Pa. and the late Grandville Cavender. He was employed with Hagerstown Floors. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Laura Cavender of Martinsburg, West Virginia; a son, Michael Eugene Cavender, Jr. of Hagerstown; 2 sisters, Betty Smith and Linda Golden, both of Cumberland, Md. 3 brothers, Harold Cavender of Williamsport, Russell Cavender of Hanover, Pa. Denny Cavender of Greencastle, Pa. and 3 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jesse Cavender and a sister, Catherine Knox. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. The Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
