Michael Jeffery Brooks, 63, of Kenly, NC, passed away Friday, October 16, 2020 at the UNC of Chapel Hill, NC. Born May 10, 1957 in Frederick, MD, he was the son of the late Maurice Brooks, Sr. and Shirley (Brooks) Dubel. Michael was employed as a maintenance technician by Wayne Community College in Goldsboro, NC. He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed going fishing. He especially loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Brooks; children, Angela Shelly (Dan), and Steven Brooks, (fianc, Missy); step-son, Allen Mackey (Keria); and seven grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by one brother, Maurice Brooks, II. Funeral Services will be held 11am, Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. Pastor Jeffery Hawbaker will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Masks are required.
