Merle Leon Mills, 71, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on January 10, 2018. He was born in Clear Spring on August 8, 1946 to the late Clarence L. "Jake" Mills and Cora I. Mills. He is survived by his wife, Karen Mills, two daughters, Tina M. Mills and Marsha G. Stotelmyer; two step-daughters, Kathleen Rice, Diane Redinger; one step-son, James Rice; two brothers Ernest Mills, Sr. and Steven Mills, Sr.; one sister, Debra Mills; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was a loving grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his second wife, Patricia A. Mills; brothers, Gary and Larry Mills; and step-daughter, Bridgett Mentzer. He was retired from Manitowoc Manufacturing and he was recently employed at the Valley Mall. Merle had a good heart and he enjoyed riding his bike, playing bingo, and he loved the outdoors. Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Jerry Cooper will officiate. Burial will be in Boonsboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m.
