Melinda Sue Wright, 62, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2025 at Complete Care.  Born September 9, 1963 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Mabel Elizabeth (Haines) and James Richard Scott Sr.

Melinda attended South Hagerstown High School. She attended Pathway Community Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Jessica Wright; son, Joshua Wright; four grandchildren, Zachary, Hannah, Layla, and Hunter; five sisters, Iris Malott, Carolyn Kesselring, Elizabeth Repp, Sheila Brown, and Christine Jenkins; one brother, Gordon Scott; and 16 nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her brother, James Scott Jr.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12pm, Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Pathway Community Church, 1028 Salem Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21740. Pastor Justin Repp will officiate.
