Maxine Anita Blake, 88, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Thursday, October 5, 2023, at her home.

Born November 7, 1934, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Walter Edward and Catherine (Jones) Campher.

Maxine was retired from Hagerstown Housing Authority and was previously employed by the Herald Mail. She was a member of the Greater Campher Temple where she served as an Elder and Past National President of Women (Kings Apostle Church World Ministries).

She is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Plummer; one son, Thomas Blake; daughter-in-law, Utausha Blake; four grandchildren, Gary Plummer, Jr., Cassaundra Plummer, Chasity Plummer and Durrell Blake; and five great-grandchildren, Dominic Plummer, Arreon Allen, Zyon Allen, Justina Baker and Justin Plummer.

Maxine was preceded in death by four sisters, Beulah Conwell, Rhoda Lytle-Tisdale, Bernice Campher, and Delores Campher; and four brothers, Oliver, Phillip, Maylon, and Walter Campher, Jr.

Services will be held 11:00am Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Greater Campher Temple, 125 Bethel Street, Hagerstown. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the church.
