Mary Theresa Smith, of Williamsport Retirement Center, the daughter of the late William L. Peacher and Annie M. Peacher King, a cherished soul and beacon of love, was called home to the Lord on December 11, 2023, at the age of 91. Born on November 9, 1932, in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, Mary's life was a testament to the power of faith and the strength of family bonds.

Mary's journey on this earth concluded at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, Maryland, surrounded by the love and prayers of her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love and nurturing through her son Robert Smith, her daughters Patricia Bussard and husband Mike, and Lisa Ryan. Her daughter-in-law Jeannie Smith, her four grandchildren Neil and wife Jamie, Corrin, Michael and wife Amanda, and Taylor, and her seven great-grandchildren Madison, Jordan, Camden, Ben, Aislyn, Danielle, and Kadence, along with her great-great-grandchild Silas, will forever cherish her memory. Mary is also survived by her brother Paul Peacher and his wife Norma, and several nieces and nephews. She now joins her beloved husband of 66 years, Edward R. Smith; son, Raymond E. Smith; daughter-in-law, Angela Smith; and her siblings Earl, Leon, Lindy, Charles, Johnny, Beatrice, Rosie, and Betty in the heavenly realm.

For over 35 years, Mary served with dedication as a cook for various schools and facilities, nourishing countless lives with her culinary talents and warm spirit. Her love for Jesus was the cornerstone of her existence, and she lived to cherish her family, providing care and comfort with open arms and a full heart.

The funeral will be held at 11am on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Pastor Bobby Robinson will officiate. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, December 18, 2023, from 6:30-8:30pm.
