Mary was a person who could do anything she put her mind to, including; running a bookkeeping, printing and tax preparation business, as well as holding executive secretarial positions . In the various jobs she held, her organizational skills were highly respected.

Mary had a positive influence on those around her, including her children. She has a great love of music, encouraging her children in vocal and instrumental activities, and enjoyed sharing her love of music and the arts with everyone. One of her favorite activities was attending concerts and theater productions.

Her church was very important to her and was a vital part of her life.

Her work ethic never slower her down, retiring at age 81 and spending her 'retirement' years at Fahrney Keedy Village in Boonsboro, MD where she became an active resident. She volunteered her time by serving on the Board of Directors, and creating monthly and bi-monthly newsletters for the residents into her 97th year. She was also active in the Auxiliary.
