Mary "Pepper" Lois Probst, 74, of Maugansville, MD passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026. She was born in Elmira, NY to the late Clarence Leroy Probst and Caroline Peet Probst.
Pepper worked as a mechanic at the Jacksonville Shipyard for several years before continuing on to work as a nursing assistant, and later at Weaver's restaurant. She was a proud University of Maryland kidney transplant recipient. She enjoyed Harley Davidson motorcycles, classic cars, gardening, crafting, Legos and puzzles, and most of all, meeting new people.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her partner, Martha Jean Ayers, her sister, Sandy Starliper, and her brothers, Kenny Newman (June), Ronald "Ronnie" Probst, Robert "Bobby" Probst, Glenn Probst, Donald "Donnie" Probst, and James "Jimmy" Probst.
She is survived by her sister, Marge Seamon (Keith), her niece, Tonya (Josh), her nephew, Edwin "Jake" (Heather), her great-nieces and great-nephews, Hannah, Mariah, and Brydon "Ty", and her close friends and loved ones, Phil & Delsie Hartnett, Jennifer & Madelyn, Karen Ayers, Angel & Alex, Garrus "Bubba", Darina, and Jaydan "Sweet Pea".
Family and friends are welcomed for a graveside service on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 1:00pm at Rose Hill Cemetery, 600 South Potomac Street in Hagerstown.
