MARY LOU McGOWAN, 70, of Cedar Lawn in Hagerstown passed away Wednesday, July 16 at the home of her daughter in Falling Waters, WV surrounded by her loving family. Born February 18, 1938 in Washington County, MD she was the daughter of the late Charles E. "Buzz" and Catherine V. Springer Metz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul V. McGowan July 1, 2007. She is retired from Londontown Manufacturing. She is survived by a daughter, Paula Neff and husband Bob of Falling Waters; a son Dan McGowan and wife Cheryl of Williamsport, MD; two sisters, Linda Biser of Conway, SC and Margie Stottlemyer of Mt. Briar, MD; five brothers, Calvert Metz of Chambersburg, PA, Roger Metz of Falling Waters, Lloyd Metz and Jerry Metz both of Charleston, SC and Mervin Metz of Hagerstown; grandchildren, Crista West and husband Tony, Kacy Shutts and husband Barry and Nick McGowan; a great grandson, Kyle West; step grandchildren, Michael Warrenfeltz, Brad Gossard and Katie Gossard; step great grandchildren, Chance, Austin and Harley Warrenfeltz; numerous nieces and nephews and her devoted pets, Boots, Kalie and Lucky. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Metz, Billy Metz and Daniel Metz. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:30pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd with Rev. James Lloyd officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday, 6:00-8:00pm at the funeral home.
