MARY JANE KAETZEL, 87, of Chewsville, Maryland, died on Wednesday, August 3, 2011. Born in 1924 in Martinsburg, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Clarence E. Kearns, Sr. and Bertha M. Custer Kearns. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles (Jeff) Kaetzel in 1996. She graduated in 1943 from Martinsburg High School. She was an active member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Chewsville, Maryland. She is survived by two daughters, Debra K. Brandt, and husband, George, of Hagerstown, and Rev. Barbara Kaetzel-Row, and husband, Neel, of Hughesville, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren, Cory Brandt of Hagerstown, and Cally Brandt of Baltimore, Maryland. She was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Parkinson; two brothers, Clarence E. (Ike) Kearns, Jr., and James H. Kearns. Funeral services will be held 9:30 a. m. Saturday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. The Rev. John W. Schildt will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
