MARY ELIZABETH JONES, 68, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away Saturday April 30. 2011 at Meritus Medical Center. Born October 25, 1942 in Hagerstown, Md., she was the daughter of the late Robert Huyett and Thelma M. Spickler Shank. She graduated from North Hagerstown High School in 1960 and from Washington County Hospital Nursing School in 1963. She was a registered nurse for 45 years. Mary was a breast cancer survivor and a strong breast cancer supporter. She was a member of Washington County Hospital School of Nursing Alumni. She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church. She is survived by her loving husband, Gary M. Jones; two sons, Robert H. Startzman and wife Karen of Hagerstown, Jeremy Jones and wife Vawn of Fayetteville, Pa.; three daughters, Elizabeth A. Nesmith and fianc Keven Alden of Spring Mills, Krista K. Snowden and husband Donald of Hagerstown, and Jennifer J. Dyer and husband Anthony of Hagerstown; 14 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a special aunt, Myrle Spickler. She was preceded in death by husband, Joseph A. Startzman, parents Madilene and Robert Shank, one brother Phillip Shank and a granddaughter, Tiffany Benner. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 1525 Oak Hill Avenue, Hagerstown. Rev. Martin S. Nocchi will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E.
