Mary Catherine (Shifler) Hutton, 92 of Hagerstown, MD, went home to be with Her Lord on Monday, December 8, 2025, at her home.

Born November 6, 1933, in Boonsboro, MD, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Ethel K. Shifler.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Bruce K. Hutton in 1996, whom she married in 1951.

She was a faithful member of Hagerstown First Church of God since 1975, serving as a board member for many years, and a Sunday School teacher for young children.

She worked in factories for 25 years in the Hagerstown area and retired in 1999 from Easter Seals (Break-A-Way program).

She is survived by two sons, Daniel B. and wife, Nan L. Hutton and Kenneth D. Hutton; two daughters, Karen F. Lapole and Barbara K. Hutton; one brother, William E. Shifler and his wife, Jean; one sister, Mildred Raudabaugh; five grandchildren, James, Bruce, Clint, Jeff, and Katie; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a stillborn son in 1951; a 21-year-old son, Eddie, in 1982; two brothers, Bob Shifler, and wife, Audrey, and Jim Shifler, and wife, Sally; a sister, Elizabeth "Libby" Stevens and her husband, Roy; a brother-in-law, Ross Raudabaugh; and a son-in-law, Carroll Lapole.

The funeral will be held at 5pm on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Pastor David Sword will officiate.

A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service.
