Mary Catherine (Barkdoll) Clever, 103, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022 at Meritus Medical Center. Born on March 29, 1918 in Leitersburg, MD, she was the daughter of the late Herman David Barkdoll and Katherine Alice Sheffler Barkdoll. Mary graduated from Williamsport High School in 1936. She worked at Fairchild Aircraft for 17 years from 1941 – 1958, W.F. Prior Co. for 4 years, and retired from Hagerstown Trust Co. in 1980. She was a member of Valley Grace Brethren Church and formerly Grace Brethren Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry D. Clever in 1996, her sisters, Edna Carter, Joann Clark, Elizabeth Grove, Helen Lung, Charlotte Shank, Goldie Stouffer, and her brothers, Alfred, Arthur, Francis, James, Orville, Russel and Walter Barkdoll. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon L. Mollo of Hagerstown, her stepdaughter, Frances W. Weiland of Linthicum, MD, her stepson, Richard D. Clever of Oakland, MD, her sisters, Kathryn Nave and Maxine Smith of Fairplay, MD, and Janet Norris of Frederick, MD, eight grandchildren, fourteen great-granchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren. Family and friends are welcomed for a visitation on Thursday, March 17, 2022 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard in Hagerstown. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 11:00am at Valley Grace Brethren Church, 17310 Gay Street in Hagerstown. Interment will take place at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown.
