Mary Adad Chavez, 97, of Boonsboro, Maryland, passed away July 19, 2026, at her home.

Born June 13, 1929 in Bolivia, South America, she was the daughter of the late Juan Adad Milan and Juana Chavez Flores.

She is survived by her daughter, M. Rosario “Rosarito” Sullivan and husband, Dr. Mark Sullivan; two grandsons, Mark Sullivan and his wife, Elixabeth, and Sean Sullivan and his wife, Margaret; and six great-grandchildren: Catherine, James, Thomas, and Nora, children of Mark and Elixabeth Sullivan, and Oliver and Owen, children of Sean and Margaret Sullivan.

Mary will always be remembered as an exceptional woman who left an enduring impression on our hearts. Her unconditional love, strength, generosity, and devout faith will accompany us always.

A Viewing will be held at Minnich Funeral Home on Monday, July 27th, 2026, from 5:00-7:00pm

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 28th, 2026, at 11:00am. Fr. Jeremy Smith will officiate.

Burial will be at Ivy Hill Cemetery in Alexandria, Virginia on Wednesday, July 29th, 2026 at 11:30am.
