MARVIN GREENWOOD RODGERS, 73, of 16812 Longfellow Court, Hagerstown, Maryland, died Sunday, August 6, 2006 at the Washington County Hospital. Born December 13, 1932 in Washington County, Maryland, he was the son of the late Edgar C. and Ida B. Rankin Rodgers. He retired from the Washington County Board of Education after thirty years of service. He was former vice president of the Auto Racing Club of Hagerstown. He is survived by his wife Donna E. Harbaugh Rodgers; one daughter, Tempe G. Rodgers of Fannettsburg, Pennsylvania; two sons, Marvin K. Rodgers of Hagerstown, Maryland and Allen G. Rodgers of Williamsport, Maryland; two sisters, Louise Irving and Mildred Saylor both of Hagerstown, Maryland; one step sister, Martha Buhrman of Hagerstown, Maryland; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Jane Getts; two brothers, Edgar C. Rodgers, Jr. and Kenneth Rankin. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown, Maryland. The Pastor James Hoffer will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m.
