Marvin Earl "Red" Buhrman, a cherished family man, a proud veteran, and a pillar of his community, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2024, in Williamsport, Maryland. Born in Greensburg, Maryland, Red lived a full and vibrant life marked by love, service, and unwavering dedication to his family and country.

Red is predeceased by his beloved wife of over 65 years, Myrtle Buhrman, and siblings Ethel Baker, Ruth Kuhn, Janice Wilkins, Nancy Hull, Janet Buhrman, Mildred Buhrman, and James Buhrman. He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion that will be carried on by his surviving sister Erma (Mitzi) Leedy, as well as his sons Michael and Brian Buhrman. His spirit will live on through his adored grandchildren, Matthew and Patrick Buhrman, his cherished granddaughter Brooke Buhrman, and his treasured great-grandchildren, Morgan and Jack Buhrman.

Red's journey was one of continuous growth and learning. His work ethic and sense of duty were exemplified through his service in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Upon retiring from the Navy, Red continued to serve his community through various roles, including his work at Letterkenny, his time as a Hagerstown News Distributor, and his dedication to assisting others.

Red's commitment to his community was evident in his involvement with numerous organizations. He was a 50-year member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church, where he found spiritual fulfillment and a sense of belonging. Red also served as President of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and the President of the Last Man's Club for Korean War veterans, sharing camaraderie and support with those who shared his experiences.

An ardent sports fan, Red's love for the Orioles and Redskins was evident to all. His competitive spirit and enthusiasm for his interests brought joy to those around him and inspired a sense of comradery among his friends and family.

Red's life was defined by his loving nature, his generous spirit, and his friendly demeanor. These traits were the foundation of his character and were evident to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His warmth and kindness touched many lives, and his memory will be cherished by all who were blessed to cross his path.

As we bid farewell to Marvin "Red" Buhrman, we celebrate a life lived with honor, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to the values he held dear. Red's story is one of love, service, and community—a narrative that will continue to inspire and guide us for generations to come.

A service to honor the life and legacy of Marvin Earl "Red" Buhrman will be held 11am Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD, with Pastor Twyla Rowe officiating, allowing friends and family to come together and pay tribute to a man who was truly one of a kind. Red's journey on earth may have come to an end, but his spirit endures in the hearts of those he loved and the community he served with such distinction.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to services on Tuesday. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park with military graveside honors.
