Marlene Ramona Souders, 87, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at her home surrounded by loved ones. Born April 17, 1934 in Great Cacapon, WV, she was the daughter of the late Ralph Theodore and Viola Catherine (Michaels) Clark. Marlene was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lester Souders. Marlene was a lifetime member of Grace United Methodist Church. She loved and lived for cooking and taking care of her family. She was known for rooting with her cowbell during her grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's sporting events. Marlene is survived by her daughter, Joni Bartles and husband, Clyde; two daughters-in-law, Cathy Souders and Lucille Souders; eight grandchildren, Steven Souders and wife, Julie, Fawnia Giffin and husband, Brad, David Baker and fiancé, Molly, Jamie Souders, Jason Souders, Cory Baker, Jacquelyn Bartles and Meghan, and Brooklyn Bartles; 12 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Trinity, Conner, Caden, Brittany, Katie, Owen, Keenan, Ciarra, Carson, Carter, and Peyton; two brothers, Larry and David Clark; and one sister, Barbara Corbett. In addition to her husband and parents, Marlene was preceded in death by three sons, Michael, Randy, and Charles "Rick" Souders; two sisters, Juliaellen Farris and Linda Angeletta; and two brothers, Bob and Dick Clark. The funeral service will be held at 11am on Friday, January 21, 2022, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Pastor Dionne Hall will officiate. Burial will be in Germantown Bethel Cemetery in Cascade, MD. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 20, 2022, from 6-8pm.
