Marie Carmel Laguerre, a beacon of love and faith, entered eternal rest on January 18, 2026. Born on March 14, 1940, in Les Cayes, Haiti. Marie's life was a testament to the strength and beauty of the human spirit. Her transition from this life occurred in Brooklyn, New York.

Marie was predeceased by her beloved husband, Julien Laguerre Sr., her father Joseph Salomon, and her mother, Ann Salomon. Her legacy continues through her children, Tania (Laguerre) Anderson, Aline Laguerre, and Julien Laguerre Jr., and her cherished grandchildren, Chantelle Laguerre, Priscilla Laguerre, Josephine Matthews (Antonio), David Anderson, Jeremiah Laguerre, Joshua Laguerre, Elizabeth Anderson, Dimanique Laguerre, Latania Crummell, Craig Peoples, Gregory Peoples, and Indiyah Peoples. Her great-granddaughter, Zyonna Crummell, also held a special place in her heart.

Marie lived in Hagerstown, MD for 13 years of her life and was a longtime member of the Eglise Baptiste Haitienne du Calvaire D'Hagerstown, where she served the Lord with gladness and shared her faith with unwavering conviction. Her love for God was evident in every aspect of her life, and she took every opportunity to speak of God's glory and goodness. She lived most of her life in Brooklyn, New York and in Maryland in the city of Baltimore, then in Hagerstown.

In her younger years, Marie found joy in the delicate art of embroidery, crafting beautiful pieces that reflected the patience and care she put into all her endeavors. She also loved to travel, experiencing the beauty of God's creation everywhere she went. Marie's love for her family was profound, and she was the embodiment of a loving, faith-filled, and kind spirit.

Marie's life was one of service, not only to her family but to all those she encountered. She was a true servant of God, and her unwavering faith inspired everyone she met. Marie's approach to life was always to look beyond the present and always to trust in the Lord's plan.

Marie Carmel Laguerre's memory will be cherished as a blessing to all who knew her. Her presence was a warm embrace, and her faith a shining light. As we reflect on her life, let us be inspired by her example to love deeply, to speak kindness, and to live a life anchored in faith.
