Margaret Elaine Shingleton, 88, of Hagerstown, passed away Friday, July 29, 2022, at Meritus Medical Center. Born March 8, 1934, in Washington County, MD, she was the daughter of the late Alvin Scott and Mildred Bowers. Margaret retired after over 42 years from Angstrom Precision and previously worked for WR&G Store, Moose Lodge 212, Creekside Tavern, Friendly Pub, Pecks Tavern and then at Sam's Club as a greeter. She was a member of Funkstown Legion Auxiliary, V.F.W. Auxiliary, Elks, Eagles and Moose Club. She enjoyed going to Charles Town and Rocky Gap. Margaret attended Beaver Creek Christian Church. She is survived by one daughter Kimberly Ann Shingleton; two sons, Robert Lee Shingleton, Jr. and Michael Wayne Shingleton; two sisters, Betty Stottlemyer and Judy M. Smith; one brother, Melvin Scott; brother-in-laws, Dave Shingleton and Jack Shingleton; daughter-in-law Kim Shingleton; three grandchildren, Joshua Shingleton, Ashleigh Toy and Erin Shingleton; one great-grandson Jackson Toy; a grand-niece, Riley Blossler; and God child, Jeff Jones. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Beverly Hoffman, Elsie M. Blair and Louise (Tiny) Shafer; and one brother, John Bowers. The funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2022, at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. Burial will be at Beaver Creek Cemetery. Rev. Mark Curran will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 3, 2022, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the funeral home.
