MARGARET LEE RUTH, 82, of 15542 Broadfording Road, Clear Spring, Maryland, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born June 29, 1928 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Stewart Slifer and Irene Hazel Keselring Amsley. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She was employed with McCrory's, Newberry's, S. S. Kresege's , was manager of Long Meadow Cinemas and district manager for Hoyt's Theatre. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Lewis J. Ruth; two daughters, Pamela L. Springer and husband Steve of Hagerstown and Beverly Henicle and husband Michael of Waynesboro, Pa.; a son, Daniel Ruth of Fairplay; grandchildren, Meghan Ruth, Allison Ruth, Charity Holt, Corinne Nelson, Ashley Henicle, Jay Henicle, Katelynn Henicle and Adam Henicle; great grandchildren, Danelle Miller, Austin Miller and Technic Nelson; Slifer cousins, Betty, Dorothy, Georgia and Virginia of Chambersburg, Pa.; and her loving dog, Babe. She was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey L. Ruth and a brother, Richard Slifer. Memorial service will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. Pastor Thom C. Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. There will be no viewing.
