Margaret "Peggy" Smith, 88, changed her address to a divine one on November 10, 2021 at Somerford Place in Hagerstown, Maryland. Peggy was born on June 20, 1933 in Hagerstown, MD, to the late James Frederick Williams and Margaret Mickley Williams. Peggy graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1951. She was a talented artist, seamstress, designer, avid gardener, and prayer warrior. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Frederick Leon Smith Jr. and Frederick November Smith, her sisters, Ruth Bloom and Bernice Williams, and her brother, Henry Williams. Peggy is survived by her husband of 70 years, Frederick Leon Smith, her daughter, April Zentmeyer, and her sons, Paul Smith and his wife, Julie and Stephen Smith, all of Hagerstown. She was the proud grandmother and great-grandmother of Beth Zentmeyer Harvey and her husband, Derek and their children, Ellie, Asher, and Harbin; Jessica Zentmeyer Carr and her husband, TJ and their sons, Timothy and Ethan; Tannen Smith; Holly and Sean Duffey and their children, Eilish and Sagan; Wesley Fink and his wife, Corrie, and their sons, Landen and Ryan; Zach Smith and his wife, Jennifer and their son, Levi; Sturgis Smith; and Staci Lehman. She is also survived by her sisters, Irene Baker, June Haddock, Hilda Alderman, and her brothers, Jimmy Williams and John Williams. Family and friends are welcomed for a visitation on Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard in Hagerstown. A celebration of Peggy's life will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 11:00am at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Rest Haven Cemetery in Hagerstown.
