MARGARET �BETSY� BLANCHE MARTIN, 75, of Hagerstown, Maryland passed away at her residence on Sunday, August 30, 2009. Born October 14, 1933 in Chambersburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late William Edward Gossert, Jr. and Iva May Beam Gossert. She was a graduate of Chambersburg High School class of 1951 and the Albert Einstein School of Nursing class of 1954 in Philadelphia, PA. She was employed as a registered nurse with the Washington County Hospital until her retirement in 1998. She was a member of the Hagerstown Church of the Brethren. She is survived by her husband, Richard Conrad Martin, whom she married on October 22, 1955; daughter, Diana Marie Ball of Frederick, MD; son, Richard Keith Martin of Hagerstown, MD; daughter, Cynthia Sue Artz of Boonsboro, MD; sister, Janet Larue Prieto of Chambersburg, PA; brother, Kenneth Elwood Gossert of Carlisle, PA; and five granddaughters. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Lee Reed; a sister, Kathleen Mae Faust; and a brother, William Edward Gossert, III. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. The Rev. Edward L. Poling will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friend on Wednesday at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
