Margaret Alice "Peggy" Palmer, 87, of Williamsport, MD, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2025, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family and best friend, Grace. Born October 16, 1938 in Washington County, MD, she was the daughter of the late George Alfred Barkdoll and Alice (Stallings) Barkdoll.

Peggy was a member of the Hagerstown Christian Church and enjoyed playing country music with local bands for many years. She worked at General Motors and co-owned Top Brass with her late husband. Peggy had a love for nature—she especially enjoyed feeding and watching the birds—and cherished the companionship of her beloved dog, CoCo.

She is survived by her four children, The 4 K's; and brother, Bobby Barkdoll.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, John Palmer, Jr on September 28, 2025, after 54 years of marriage; grandson, Justin; sister, Joyce; and two brothers, George and Sam.

A viewing will be held from 5pm to 7pm on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD.

The funeral will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 1pm. Burial at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park will be private.
