Marcia Ann Stallings, 71, of Smithsburg, MD, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Born October 23, 1945 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of Paul W. Grove and the late Mary P. (Payette) Grove. Marcia attended St. Mary's Elementary School, and graduated from St. Marie Goretti High School in 1963. She completed her formal education, graduating with honors, at Hagerstown Business College. Her first employment was with the Federal Government in Washington, D.C., then came home to work at Pangborn. Later, she was a stay-at-home mother for a few years, and then had an opportunity that filled her passion of reading booksShe was employed with Washington County Free Library for over 30 years until her retirement. There was never a book or animal that she didn't like; and in her quiet times, she loved music. Marcia was a gentle, kind, loving woman that God called home. He needed another angel to help him. She was loved by all and will be missed by all. In addition to her father, Marcia is survived by her husband of 52 wonderful years, Gary Stallings; two sons, Peter Stallings and Christopher Stallings; four sisters, Ginny Messier, Rese Heinrich, Amy Bowers, and Holly Crebbs; two grandchildren, Jordyn Stallings and Levi Stallings; and several nieces and nephews. Marcia was preceded in death by her mother and brother, Mark Stephen Grove. A Gathering of Friends will be held from 7 to 9pm Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. A graveside service will be held 11am Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Rose Hill Cemetery, 600 S. Potomac Street, Hagerstown. Pastor Brian Darrell will celebrant.
