Marcell Louise Burnett, 63, lovingly called Marcie, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 15th, 2021 after battling several medical illnesses at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD. Marcie was born January 27, 1958, in Hagerstown, MD, the child of George A. Burnett, Sr. and Gertrude (Burns) Burnett. She was devoted to her companion of 37 years, James Jones, Sr., the father of her daughters, Angel Burnett and Tiffany Jones, and son, James Jones, Jr. She was the ever present homemaker who enjoyed cooking for her family and spending lots of quality time with her grand- and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed singing, dancing, and a good party. Being a resident on the south side of town, Marcie attended South Hagerstown Junior and Senior High Schools. She attended Zion Baptist Church on Bethel Street and knew the Lord as her personal Savior. Leaving to mourn her loss are her daughters, Angel Marie Burnett and Tiffany Nicole Jones, and her son, James E. Jones, Jr. (all of Hagerstown); her life-long companion, James Everett Jones, Sr.; brothers, George A. Burnett (Pee Wee) and Maggie Burnett, (Hagerstown), Robert and Leysa Burnett, (Hagerstown), Alexis Burnett Wright and Francisco Wright (Puerto Rico); grandchildren, Lakisha Barnett, Corey Barnett, Jokari Barnett, Dayjour Motley, Shaniqua Jackson, Demetrius Burnett, Nakayla Simmons, Ka'ion Simmons, Heavenly Simmons, Jayvion Jones, Khole Jones, Angel Jones, Jcole Jones, Khalil Jones Abrey Jones; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, George Burnett, Sr.; mother, Gertrude Burnett, Jr.; daughter Lakisha Jones; sisters, Karen and Vera Burnett- Williams; brother, Phillip Burnett; and her nephews, Brian Burnett and Wesley Burnett. The viewing will be held at 5:00pm immediately followed by the funeral at 7:00pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd, Hagerstown, MD.
