MABEL LOVE CHAMBLIN, 97, of 10837 Allen Avenue, Hagerstown, died Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Homewood Nursing Home in Williamsport, MD. Born January 31, 1913 in Loudoun County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Fenton Mercer Love II and Gertrude Peacock Love. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Williamson Chamblin in 1981. She was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church; where she was in the Circle 2, Women's Society, Sewing Circle and many other church activities. She taught in the public school system of Loudoun County, VA and privately in Frederick. MD. She is survived by her son, Gordon Taylor Chamblin and wife Karen of Belmont, WV; her daughter, Susan Love Chamblin of Hagerstown; two grandchildren, Michael Chamblin and wife Jamie of Mars, PA and Sandra Christman and husband Jeff of Carlisle, PA; four great-grandchildren, Tyler and Olivia Christman and Madelyn and Gabrielle Chamblin. She was preceded in death by one brother, Fenton Mercer Love III and two sisters, Gertrude Hackley and Dorothy Love Bowman. Services will be at 5:00 p.m. Thursday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Jeff Shull will officiate. Burial will be in Hillsboro Cemetery in Hillsboro, VA on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Thursday before the service at the funeral home.
