M. Eileen Black, 74 of Hagerstown, MD, passed peacefully on Saturday, 08 October 2022, surrounded by her loving family after a very short battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born on 21 March, 1948 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the loving daughter of Elmer C. and Gertrude B. Petre Black. She was a graduate of North Hagerstown High School, class of 1966.

Eileen retired from Martin's Food after 38 years as a Bakery Manager. During her retirement years, she loved reading her Bible and daily devotionals, going to Church, traveling, watching the Baltimore Orioles, and spending time with family and friends.

She was a devout Christian who loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was saved at 10 years old.

Eileen was a devoted member of The Broadfording Church of the Brethren Fellowship where she served on numerous committees and was a Sunday school teacher. She loved her Church family.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her Brother John W. Black and Nephew George Allen Crummitt, Jr.

She is survived by her Sister, Veronica M. Crummitt, loving Nieces and Nephews, great-Nieces and Nephews, and great, great-Nieces and Nephews, as well as numerous other family members. Although she never had children of her own, she loved and cared for her Nieces and Nephews as if they were her children.

During the last month of her life, she was able to go home under the loving care of her "special" Niece, Diane Allison, who promised her she would take care of her and not leave her side.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice of Washington County for their care and support of our Beloved Eileen. Without them, it would not have been possible to bring her home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Broadfording Church of the Brethren Fellowship in Eileen's memory.

Family and friends are welcomed for a visitation on Friday, October 14, 2022 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard in Hagerstown.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 11:00am with a viewing from 10:00am -11:0am prior to the service at Broadfording Church of the Brethren Fellowship, 14010 Greencastle Pike in Hagerstown.

Interment will take place at Broadfording Cemetery.
