Lynn F. Spalding, Jr., 72, went to be with our Lord and Savior Tuesday January 27, 2026, with family by his side.

Lynn was born January 6, 1954 in Hagerstown, MD to the late Lynn Fogle Spalding, Sr. and Doris J. Spalding.

He graduated from South Hagerstown High School in 1972. After graduation, he joined the United States Navy. Lynn was an active lifetime member of Funkstown American Legion Post 211 where he was a past Post Commander a few times. He was also an active member of the Forty and Eight club, and a long-time member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Funkstown, MD.

In addition to his parents, Lynn was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda S. Spalding, of 49 years.

Lynn is survived by his daughters, Tia Ward, of Hagerstown, MD, and Melissa Shupp (Frank) of Roanoke, VA; his sister, Tammy King (Don) of Hagerstown, MD; and five grandchildren, Lynn, Karissa, Tava, Pablo, and Aidan, as well as three great-grandchildren, Gavin, Emilia, and Liam, and one more on the way.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date for everyone to attend.
