LOUISE IRENE SWOPE, 83, of Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Monday, May 10, 2004 at the Washington County Hospital. Born October 11, 1920 in Boonsboro, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Edna Hovis Swope. She was employed with Maryland Ribbon for twenty-one and a half years, retiring in 1988. She attended the Bethel Assembly of God. She is survived by one daughter, Rachel Moore of Hagerstown; two sons, William Robert Patterson of Martinsburg, West Virginia, and Clarence Thomas Patterson of Delaware; four sisters, Mary Green, and Bertha Sigler, both of Myersville, Maryland, Hazel Baker of Hagerstown, and Betty Gilbert of Middletown, Maryland; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Biddle. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p. m. Wednesday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard. Pastor Steven McCullough will officiate. Burial will be in the Beaver Creek Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
