LOUISE GEDDIE EYLER, 89, formerly of Nottingham Road, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Thursday, June 4, 2009 at NMS Healthcare where she was a resident. Born June 18, 1919 in Cumberland County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Paul A. and Katie C. Sessoms Geddie. She married Charles I. Eyler Jr. on June l2, 1971. At the time of their marriage, her church membership was transferred from Hay Street Methodist Church, Hay Street, Fayetteville, N. C. to Grace United Methodist Church in Hagerstown. She was a regular participant in many activities in the church. She was employed at Fort Bragg, N. C. After graduation from high school and business college in May 1941, she moved to Washington, D. C. and was employed at the Pentagon with the Navy Department as a personnel specialist, retiring in June 1970. She then moved to Hagerstown, Maryland. She was a member of the Little People of America, and at various times she served as President and Secretary Treasurer of the local Delmarva Chapter. After her marriage to Charles, she became active in the activities of the Antietam Fire Company, and in the Funkstown Lions Club. After Charles' death on January 2, 1985, she continued to take part in the activities of the Lions Club. She was preceded in death by one sister, Frances Geddie George, and one brother, Joe W. Geddie. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p. m. Saturday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard. Rev. Clark D. Carr will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 p. m., one hour prior to the service. Family requests omission of flowers, and memorial donations may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 712 Church Street, Hagerstown, Maryland 21740.
