Lorraine Lillian Carter, 91 of Hagerstown, stepped into Glory on October 1, 2019, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimerss Disease. Born October 26, 1927 in Pearre, MD, she was the daughter of the late Charles Franklin and Ada Louise (Sipes) Hofe. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Wallace Leo Carter in 2007. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Hagerstown, MD. Lorraine is survived by 2 daughters, Beverly DuSing, and husband Ronnie, of Ormond By The Sea, FL, and Brenda Kidwell-Schlosser, and husband Roger, of Pensacola, FL; 2 sisters, Genevieve Houpt and Mary Louise Hess, both of Hagerstown; 3 Grandchildren, Jon Somerlade, and wife Traci, of Pensacola, FL, Jodi Marsden of Pensacola, FL, Lori Daly, and husband Ian, of Melbourne, FL; 5 Great Grandchildren, Kirran, Kaili, Christopher, Taylor and Johnathan; several nieces and nephews, and her special angel, Kitty Lippy. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Violet Grove, Alene May and Ruth Moore; 2 brothers, Clyde Hofe and Kenneth Hofe; 1 son-in-law, Gary Kidwell. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 6th at 2:00 P.M. at Grace United Methodist Church, 712 W. Church St., in Hagerstown. The Reverend Katherine Lippy will officiate. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E Wilson Blvd, Hagerstown, MD 21740 to help defray expenses.
