Lois A. Walzl, 94, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026 at Williamsport Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born on April 21, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Andrew F. Snyder and Alberta J. (Snyder) Goldsborough.

Lois was a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was employed for many years at the C&P Telephone Company, and at the Washington County Board of Education. She also worked at The Stationary House, where she retired after 14 years.

Lois loved spending time with her family and loved ones, and joyfully watching her children and grandchildren grow into young adults, cheering them on as they played sports, won spelling bees, graduated school, and even occasionally taking a trip with them down the Super Slide at the area carnival.

In addition to her parents, Lois was preceeded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Vernon Walzl, who passed away October 25, 1992, and her sister, Monna J. Goldsborough, who passed in 2018, as well as brothers in law Eugene L. Walzl, and Oscar Goldsborough.

Lois is survived by her daughter, Jody L. Walzl, son Eugene J. Walzl and wife Nancy Walzl, son Stephen B. Walzl and Joanne Cagle, as well as her sister Lana D. Walzl, grandsons Corey J. Walzl Benjamin T. Walzl, and Conner J. Walzl. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, including Lisa Walzl, Joseph Walzl, Robert Walzl and Regina Walzl.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 12 Noon -1pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd in Hagerstown.

A funeral service will be held at Minnich funeral home on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 1pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Washington County.
