LOIS LORETTA LOWERY, 85, of Hagerstown, MD, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Williamsport Retirement Village in Williamsport, Maryland as she was surrounded by her family. Born December 2, 1927 in Ridgley, WV, she was the daughter of the late Charles Ash and Cora Mae Landis Ash. Lois was employed with K-Mart for 17 years, retiring in 1993. She went back to school and received her GED in 1987. Lois enjoyed her family, especially at Christmas time. She was a lady that loved to spoil the children on Christmas. Lois enjoyed roller skating and playing tip jars. She was always the lucky winner. She is survived by three daughters, Lori A. Rider and husband David of Falling Waters, WV., Carol E. Beasley and husband Mark of Williamsport, MD, and Cora Lynn St-Phard and husband Sam of Frederick, MD; a son, John W. Lowery of Hagerstown; one sister, Dorothy Love Baker of Hagerstown; 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Judy A. Kelly; two sisters, Pauline Alice Ash and Marjorie Mae Sheetz; two grandsons, Keese Leslie Bare and Mark Beasley, Jr.; and her companion of 18 years, Harold E. Fraley of Hagerstown, MD. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd. Rev. Louis L. Emerick will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Williamsport Retirement Village for their love, support and excellent care that they gave to Lois and her family during this difficult time.
