Obituary

Lois Mae Hovis of Waynesboro, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at the home of her daughter, Colleen Barnes. Born in Shimpstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond "Bud" Mummert and Carrie "Mae" Silvers Renner. She attended Williamsport High School, and over her long career, was employed by Hagerstown Leather Goods. After retiring, she worked at McDonalds and Fazolis where she enjoyed her interactions with the many patrons she came to know over the years. Lois was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 15 in Waynesboro, PA. Aside from her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 36 years, John F. Hovis, who passed away on May 7, 2011; husband, Glen Marshall, who passed away April 1972; brother, Charles "Duckfoot" Mummert; and an infant daughter, Dana Marie Davis. She is survived by a sister, Joyce Ireland and her husband, Bill, of Pittsford, NY; and a brother, Edward Mummert and his wife, Liz, of Palm Coast, FL. Lois is survived by a son, Ernest Davis and wife, Pam, of Falling Waters, WV; two daughters, Colleen Barnes and husband, Ed, of Hagerstown, MD, and Glenna Meshyock and husband, Joe, of Chambersburg, PA. She also leaves behind seven grandsons, Blake, Neil, and Ryan Davis, Glenn and Anthony Barnes, Derrick Avey, Travis Meshyock; and twelve great grandchildren. There will be no service. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice organization of your choice.
