Claudine Derr passed away on July 3, 2023 at Doey's House.

Born June 15, 1927 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Carroll G. and Lula E. (Lapole) Cooper, Sr.

Her husband, Ernest Derr, preceded her in death on September 27, 1984.

She graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1945.

She was formally employed for 30 years as office manager at J.J. Newberry's and then worked in the accounting department for the City of Hagerstown for 14 years, retiring in 1987.

She was affectionately known as "Mom" by her Newberry office employees, Patricia Palmer, Mary Barnhart, Linda Hitt, and Carol Moser, and has remained friends with them for over 60 years. She would like to be remembered for trying to help those who asked for advice or needed someone to listen to their problems.

She was a member of the Virginia Avenue Church of God, where she volunteered in the office for 11 years.

She is survived by her great niece, Marylan Kochera of Hagerstown and her family, and her great nephew, Ryan Seiple of Pennsylvania.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Nina Murray; brother, Carroll G. Cooper, Jr.; niece, Evelyn and husband, Don Seiple; and great nephews, Steven, Tim, and Jeff Seiple.

Family and friends are welcomed for a visitation on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard in Hagerstown.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 11:00am at the funeral home. Pastor Shawn Bushman will officiate.

Interment will take place at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hagerstown.
