LLOYD W. HANLIN, 89, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Friday, January 13, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born September 5, 1927 in Gormania, WV, he was the son of the late Thomas G. and Edna S. Schaffer Hanlin. He served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1947. Lloyd retired from Alleghney Power with over 37 years of service. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Smithsburg, MD. Lloyd is survived by his wife whom he married April 13, 1952, Lois Susan Pratt-Hanlin; two daughters, Judy Null and husband, Kevin of Oakland, MD and Tammey Brown and husband, Rick of Hagerstown, MD, one son, Mark Hanlin and wife, Debi of Hagerstown; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Null-Clark, Michael Null, Jonathan Hanlin, Adam Hanlin, Alisha Hanlin, Christopher Brown, Shawn Brown and Bridgette Brown; two great grandchildren; one sister, Norma Beth Hite; one brother, Delbert Hanlin; and one half-brother, W. Thomas Hanlin. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Leon Hanlin and Glenn Lee Hanlin. Services will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. Pastor Virgil Cain will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 6p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
