LLOYD W. GIBNEY, JR. of Funkstown, MD passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Meritus Medical Center. He received his new body in heaven. Born May 16, 1951 in Funkstown, MD to the late Lloyd Walter Gibney, Sr. and Helen Ridenour Gibney. He was a 1970 graduate of South Hagerstown High School and a 1972 graduate of Scotts Beauty School in Martinsburg, WV. Lloyd worked and retired after twenty years from Jerr-Dan in Greencastle, PA. He also worked at the WD Bryon Tannery in Williamsport, MD until they closed the operation and moved to Mexico. In his younger years Lloyd loved hanging out at the Funkstown Fountain with his friends and shooting pool. He enjoyed hunting, working hard, and spending time with his family. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his wife, Vicky and their dog, Jade. He is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, Vicky Lynn Gibney and his companion "Jade". In addition, he is survived by two sisters: Carolyn Yeakle (A.G.) of Cape Coral, FL and Darlene Gibney Chapman of Sharpsburg. His two children whom he loved very much; Michelle Gibney Bowers and Shaun Gibney both of Smithsburg (five grandchildren). He is also survived by his nephew, David Henry and family. His dear friend and blood brother, Jeff Everett of Kirby, WV. Lloyd was an Organ Donor and gave to help others through the "Living Legacy Foundation" upon his death. Lloyd was also a member of Funkstown American Legion Post 211, S.A.L. Lloyd was preceded in death by his brother, Elmer Scott Gibney and an infant brother, Joseph Gibney. Memorial services with be private with family at a date to be determined. The family requests the omission of flowers.
