Obituary

LLOYD MONTGOMERY EWART, 89, of 17742 Virginia Avenue, and formerly of Resh Road Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Thursday, May 24, 2007 at his home. Born August 4, 1917 in Smithton, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late William and Minnie Bell Bartley Ewart. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Valetta Ewart in 2006. He was retired from Mack Truck. He was a member of Amvets Post 10, the American Legion, Funkstown Post 211, and Golden Bulldogs. He is survived by three daughters, Genevieve Barr, and Candy Cline, both of Hagerstown, and Denise Sipe of McConnellsburg, Pa.; two brothers, Lewis Ewart of Uniontown, Pa., and Glenn Ewart of Carmichael, Pa.; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Margie Shuttleworth, Erma Stock and Irene Ford, and one brother, Harry Ewart. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Saturday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard. Rev. Elizabeth Johns will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 9 p. m.
