LLEWELLYN WALKER "PETE" WHITTINGTON, age 99, of Williamsport, Maryland went to be with the Lord on June 25, 2010. Born August 10, 1910 in Hume Virginia, He was the son of Lewellyn Laython and Nettie Elizabeth Burke Whittington. He was the loving husband of Ethel V. McLucas Whittington, who preceded him in death March 18, 1990. He was employed with Western Maryland Railroad, and retired from Statton Furniture Company in 1980. He was a member of Hagerstown Grace Brethren Church since 1966. Survived by sons, William L. Whittington, Ray E. Whittington and Richard L. Whittington all of Hagerstown, MD, Samuel G. Whittington of Falling Waters, WV; daughters, Helen A. Churchey, Dorothy L. Mongan, Sandra D. Lewis and Wanda E. Boyer all of Hagerstown, MD, Betty Rohrer of Williamsport, MD and Jean Cunningham of Falling Waters, WV. Mr. Whittington had thirty five grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Llewellyn W. Whittington was preceded in death by one son, Robert L. Whittington; ten siblings; Ruth E. Whittington, Lucy M. Whittington Swisher, Mary H. Whittington Baugher, Henry A. Whittington, Douglas K. Whittington, Virginia N. Whittington Hutzell, Marie A. Whittington Flook, Harry L. Whittington, Betty W. Whittington Randall, Louis Whittington Wood. He also was preceded in death by one grandson, Steve Cunningham. Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. The Rev. Dean Pryor will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
