LINDA SUE (LYN) VANCE, 59, of 202 East Franklin Street, Hagerstown, Maryland, died on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at her home. Born November 18, 1947 in Washington, D. C., she was the daughter of the late Arthur Delmore Raines, Sr. and Calledith Mae Reeder Raines. She graduated from South Hagerstown High School in 1965. She was formerly employed with Lauren's Tavern. She is survived by her former husband, Eldridge B. Vance; two sons, Michael Eldridge Clever, and Eddie Lynn Raines, both of Fairfield, Iowa; six sisters, Josephine M. Socks of Clear Spring, Maryland, Kaye R. Clever, and June S. Raines, both of Sharpsburg, Maryland, Cynthia M. A. Raines of Williamsport, Maryland, and Joy Lee Guessford and Judy E. Raines, both of Hagerstown; four brothers, Rev. William E. Raines of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Robert E. Raines of The Villages, Florida, and Arthur D. Raines, Jr. and Larry G. Raines, both of Hagerstown; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; one aunt; two uncles; and many cousins. She was preceded in death by one sister, Laura J. Raines, one brother, Charles H. Raines, and one half-sister, Ellen E. Raines. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
