LINDA PLEASANT, 64, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, July 26, 2012. She was born December 6, 1947, in Oklahoma. She was the daughter of the late Junior Lee and Ellenora Cook. She had been employed for more than twenty-four years at Hagerstown Kitchens as a cabinet sander until she was forced into early retirement in 2010. Prior to that, she also worked at Maryland Maid Kitchens for eleven years, and The White Coffee Pot as a waitress back in the early 70's. She was a loving mother and great friend who loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed going to yard sales and trying her luck on the "one armed bandits". She was also an avid Orioles fan who loved watching the game. She is survived by two daughters: Amy Garvin and husband Joe; Tammy Pleasant and longtime companion, Jamie Hoak; one granddaughter, Kayla Garvin. She is also survived by her longtime companion, Phil Longnecker, along with his four children and grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters: Donna Grey, Mary Stover, and Kathy Benner; and one brother, Kenneth Cook. She was preceded in death by one brother, Russell Cook. Family will receive friends on Sunday, July 29, 2012 from 6 to 9 p. m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown. Funeral services will also be held at the Minnich Funeral Home on Monday, July 30 at 11:00 a. m. The Rev. Michael Seger will officiate. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Williamsport, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Linda's honor to either John R.
