Born on June 7, 1948, in Keedysville, MD to the late Richard David and Nervy Maria (Bowman) Smith, Linda's life was a testament to her unwavering commitment to her family, her faith, and her love for education and nature.

She was a devoted wife to her husband, Larry Martz, for 58 years, and a loving mother to her son, Larry Martz, Jr. and his wife, Debbie, and her daughter, Octavia Bryson and her fiancé, William Sullivan. Linda's legacy will live on through her four grandchildren, Ryan, Bradley, Cheyanne, and Christopher. She is also survived by brothers, Larry and Roy "Sonny" Smith, and sisters, Shirley Smith and Judy Brumbaugh, and many nieces and nephews.

Linda's journey began as a graduate of Boonsboro High School in 1966, where she laid the foundation for a life of service and learning. Her professional path was marked by her nurturing spirit, first as a substitute teacher at Maugansville Elementary School. Later, she continued to serve her community as a librarian at the Washington County Library, sharing her love for literature and knowledge with all who walked through its doors. Linda also brought beauty into the world as a hairdresser at Wilma's, where her creative touch and thoughtful conversation brightened the days of her clients.
