Linda Cunningham Marshall, 74, of Boonsboro MD, passed away Monday, February 12, 2018. Born October 22, 1943 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Richard Elwood and Lillian Powell (Hamilton) Cunningham. Linda was a graduate of South Hagerstown High School. She worked in the Guidance Department at North Hagerstown High School and enjoyed helping students identify their gifts and strengths as they pursued their career paths. In her retirement, she volunteered for Washington County Hospice and enjoyed hiking, biking and travel. She had the opportunity to travel extensively, visiting in excess of some 100 countries. On her most recent trip while on Safari in the Serengeti in Tanzania, she had the amazing experience of seeing the "Big Five" including sightings of the African elephant, Cape Buffalo, Leopard and both the black and white Rhinoceros. She loved her home in the mountains at the base of the Appalachian Trail in Boonsboro and was devoted to her two rescue cats Joey and Chloe. She is survived by two daughters, Tara Capino and husband, Richard, and Torri Dietrich and husband, Donn; one sister, Rhonda Cunningham; two brothers, Richard Cunningham and Michael Cunningham; four grandchildren, Elli Dietrich, Hanna Palmer, Heather and Ricky Capino, and Nephews Matthew Zimmerman, Tony, Troy and Richard Cunningham, and Niece Laine Cunningham. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for family and friends. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
