LESLIE HARRY "LES" KERNS, 71, of 11148 Lakeside Drive, Hagerstown, Maryland, died Saturday, June 5, 2010 at the Washington County Hospital. Born January 25, 1939 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Harry Winton and Mary Catherine Dutrow Kerns. He was preceded in death by his wife of thirty-four years, Lois Gaynell Kerns on November 6, 1995. He served with the Army National Guard from 1956 to 1959. He was employed with Alphin Aircraft and Hagerstown Aviation Services. His favorite activities were bowling and fishing. He was a member of the Williamsport Red Men Conococheague Tribe No. 84. Les is survived by one son, Leslie R. Kerns of Waynesboro, PA; one step-daughter, Karolyn Henson Martin of Hagerstown, MD; two step-sons, Kim A. Henson of Cumberland, MD and Kerry L. Henson of Hagerstown, MD; twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Winton Junior Kerns and Philip R. Kerns. Private services will be at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends on Wednesday at the Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD on Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The family requests the omission of flowers.
